Karen Boutilier Kendall lives in the mountains of Northern New Mexico with her husband, Gregory. For years, friends and family encouraged Karen to write down the stories of her childhood. Berkeley to Beijing took well over a decade to write, but was a labor of love.

Farmworker Movement Documentation Project

This wonderful collection of Essays, Photos, Oral History, Videos, Music and an archive of El Malcriado was created by LeRoy Chatfield.  LeRoy was the executive director of Loaves & Fishes, a private sector religious organization dedicated to feeding the hungry and sheltering the homeless in Sacramento, California. The project seeks to compile source accounts from the volunteers who worked with Cesar Chavez to build his farm worker movement during the period, 1962-1993. http://www.farmworkermovement.org/

Jesse Hernandez - Book Cover Artist

Immortal Studios is the website of my cousin Jesse Hernandez. His art combines traditional indigenous styles and themes with an urban street sensibility. Jesse is most widely known for his custom painted toys, illustration and canvas work. His style also draws upon his animation background. Jesse currently works full time for The Filipino Channel as Art Director/Co-Creator of the cartoon series “The Nutshack” and he creates freelance artwork through his company, Immortal Studios.
